Donations help support our active Native youth, by providing them with materials for traditional crafts such as regalia, drumsticks and more. Also, funds allow our kids to experience traditional ceremonies and events that are not available in urban areas. Cultural identity is essential to the well-being of our children as they grow into adults. With your support, our youth can learn and experience their indigenous heritage first hand, in the traditional way of our peoples. Thank you for your support!

The Lance Allrunner Memorial Scholarship

Lance Allrunner founded our dance group in the mid-nineties, and was a well-known, highly respected, and much loved member of the Indigenous community. He dedicated his life to sharing knowledge of traditional customs with younger generations. In the tradition of generosity and the seven generations, Lance worked to empower youth through cultural identity and encouraged them to pursue higher education. His time with us was brief, but powerful.

To honor his life and memory, the Medicine Heart Dancers sponsor the Lance Allrunner Memorial Scholarship each year. The Indigenous population trails behind the national average for enrollment in colleges and universities, and in receiving a bachelor’s or post-secondary degree. Higher education is as important for our students as well as our tribes, by putting educated individuals in careers that help better theirs lives.
